Getting help

Emailsupport@primemoverindustries.com
SteamThe game's Bug Reports forum on its Steam community hub, where the known issues are pinned at the top
SayWhat you were doing when it happened, and the version number at the foot of the main menu

If the game stops with a fault

A sheet headed A Fault in the Works comes up. The clock is stopped, and your campaign has already been saved as it stood, as the recovered save.

Sending a crash report

  1. Press Windows+R, paste %APPDATA%\Titans of Progress\saves and press Enter.
  2. The crashes folder holds a text file for each fault, named crash- and the date and time. The logs folder holds the game’s logs from your last five sessions.
  3. Email the crash file and the logs folder to support@primemoverindustries.com. If you started a thread in Bug Reports, use its title as the subject.
  4. Add your save if you are willing. A save holds the whole campaign, so it can be played to the day it failed.

A report is plain text: read it before you send it, and remove anything you would rather not share. It names your version of Windows, your graphics card and your processor, your company’s name and the date in the game, and ends with the last lines of the log. Folder paths in it may include your Windows user name. Nothing is sent unless you send it (privacy).

If the game closed without a report

A fault in the graphics driver or the engine can close the game before it writes a report. The next time you start, the main menu says “The last sitting ended without closing properly.” Send both logs folders: the one inside saves, where game.1.log is the session that closed, and the engine’s own logs folder beside saves.

Where the game keeps things

Saves%APPDATA%\Titans of Progress\saves. Your campaigns, three autosaves, an exit save and a recovered save. Uninstalling the game leaves them in place
Crash reports%APPDATA%\Titans of Progress\saves\crashes
Game logs%APPDATA%\Titans of Progress\saves\logs. game.log is the current session, game.1.log the one before; five are kept
Engine logs%APPDATA%\Titans of Progress\logs
Settings%LOCALAPPDATA%\Titans of Progress\settings.json. Delete it to go back to the defaults
ModsSubscribed Workshop mods are kept by Steam. A save played with mods opens only with the same mods switched on

An update that changes how the game plays will not open a save made before it: the save says “Not playable on this game version” and names the version that made it.

Refunds

Titans of Progress is sold through Steam, and refunds are Steam’s: ask through Steam Support, under Valve’s Steam refund policy. Valve’s page sets the terms and decides each request; at the time of writing it gives a refund for any reason within fourteen days of purchase with under two hours played, and looks at other requests case by case. Early Access is no exception. The studio has no separate refund policy and cannot refund a purchase itself.

Privacy

The game has no analytics and no account of its own, and sends nothing to the studio. Steam’s features (multiplayer, achievements, the Workshop, Steam Cloud) are Valve’s, under Valve’s privacy policy. If you write to us, what you send is used to answer you and fix the game, and nothing else. The contact form is delivered by FormSubmit, a service that carries the message to us by email. To ask what we hold about you, write to the address above.
